It's quite a feat to be able to emulate a "current" console and run new titles practically on release date. It can sometimes still be a bit of a hassle, but other titles will run perfectly pretty much "out of the box" with default settings. OpenGL GLASM (for Nvidia specifically) or VULKAN also help tremendously with reducing stutter when building shaders. Games can be run at 1440p or 4k resolutions with texture/LOD/sharpness mods, disabled dynamic resolution scaling, improved anti-aliasing, and for some titles even at 60fps rather than a locked 30 (or lower) on the native switch.Īs with all emulation, sometimes it takes a bit of screwing around and trying out different render methods, different mods, and downloading shaders from a reputable source or waiting for your own playthrough to have built up a sizable shader cache. Personally I have a 5600X and an RTX 3070 So far, a modern CPU and preferably an Nvidia GPU seem to make the most impact. Switch emulators work perfectly fine for most popular games, especially if you have a beefy PC.
